The SW shrouded wire-wrap screen has an additional bridge type shroud installed outside of the wire-wrap layer which is point to point welded with optimized structure strength. The bridge slots on the shroud could reduce direct flush onto the screens, extending the working life of the wire-wrap layer inside. The shroud could act as a filtering media as well, thus in the case that one of the two layers fails, the screen could remain effective in sand control.
A supporting ring with an OD larger than the screen itself is assembled to minimize damages during running in horizontal or high-inclination wells.
The SW shrouded wire-wrap screen is manufactured with 304 stainless steel with high strength, resistance to corrosion and high temperature. It is especially suitable for thermal recovery of heavy oil in horizontal or high-inclination wells.
